Une randonnée, de nouveaux travaux et
un film débat programmés


Bilan très positif pour l'association "Ensemble pour l'Environnement et le Patrimoine à Saint-Thomas" lors de l'assemblée générale vendredi 21 janvier qui s'est tenue en présence de 25 personnes dont le maire, Michel Turmeau. Sonia Critchley et Jean Le Guiffant, ont rappelé notamment la fin des travaux de restauration à la Chapelle des Rues, avant de présenter de nouvelles pistes pour les années à venir comme la restauration du lavoir de Beauvais en partenariat avec la commune et la famille Chauvet, la réhabilitation de la crypte de l'église, ainsi que la réouverture possible de trois autres chemins.

La Société Archéologique et d'Histoire de la Mayenne (SAHM) propose d'organiser une randonnée commentée faisant découvrir le patrimoine de Saint-Thomas : la chapelle, la crypte, le château, le pont romain... Elle aura lieu le dimanche 25 septembre avec randonnée le matin et piquenique. Des soirées-débat sont prévues avec projection de films sur des sujets environnementaux, comme "Solutions locales pour un désordre global" de Coline Serreau. La fête de la Saint-Jean aura lieu le 18 juin avec randonnée et repas.

Après élections, le bureau est modifié : il y a trois sortants et trois entrants, dont deux nouveaux : Marion Middenway et René Chevalier. Le bureau actuel est composé de Sonia Critchley (présidente) Patrice Lefeuvre (vice-président) Jean Le Guiffant (secrétaire) Raymond Chevallier (trésorier) et Margaret Roberts (trésorière adjointe).
A ramble, new work and a
film discussion scheduled


Very positive for the association "Ensemble pour l'Environnement et le Patrimoine à Saint-Thomas" at the Annual General Meeting on Friday 21st January, which was attended by 25 people, including Mayor Michael Turmeau. Sonia Critchley and Jean Le Guiffant recalled in particular the completion of the restoration of the Chapelle des Rues, before presenting new projects for the years to come such as the restoration of laundry Beauvais, in partnership with the community and the Chauvet family, restoration of the church crypt, and the possible reopening of three other footpaths.

The Archaeological and Historical Society of Mayenne (SAHM) proposes to organize a ramble to rediscover the heritage of St. Thomas : the chapel, the crypt, the château and the Roman bridge... This will take place on Sunday 25th September with hiking in the morning and a picnick. In the evening are planned discussion with films on environmental topics, such as "local solutions for global disorder" by Coline Serreau. The fête of Saint John will be held on the 18th June, with a ramble and evening meal.

After elections, the committee is changed: there are three incoming and three outgoing members, including two new members - Marion Middenway and René Chevalier. The current committee is comprised of Sonia Critchley (president) Patrice Lefebvre (vice-president) Jean Le Guiffant (secretary) Raymond Chevallier (treasurer) and Margaret Roberts (assistant treasurer).
